Doctor Who Series 7, Episodes 1-3: Synopses
Episode 1: Asylum Of The Daleks – Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission – to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter… the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Pond’s marriage.
Episode 2: Dinosaurs On A Spaceship – An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo… of dinosaurs! By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers; a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else onboard who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.
Episode 3: A Town Called Mercy – The Doctor gets a Stetson (and a gun!), and finds himself the reluctant Sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg, who goes by the name of the Gunslinger. But who is he and what does he want? The answer seems to lie with the mysterious, Kahler-Jex, an alien doctor (yes another one!) whose initial appearance is hiding a dark secret.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to clean the jizz off of everything within ten feet of me.

Mars Rover Snaps Stunning Self-Portrait
NASA put together this artsy image of Mars rover Opportunity getting a glimpse of its own shadow on the rim of Endeavour Crater. The robotic geologist used its panoramic camera to take about a dozen shots using an assortment of filters between about 4:30 and 5 p.m. Mars time on March 9.
The images were transmitted back to Earth where a team of scientists assembled them into this mosaic, which was released Wednesday.

You believe that the most incredible thing ever was a burning bush that spoke Hebrew; that the most astonishing feat ever performed by a man involved walking a few yards on top of a liquid? Fine. That’s cool.
My reality is trillions of times more awe-inspiring and life-affirming than your silly little myths, lies, and self-deception ever have been, will be, or even could be. Any single piece of evidence in support of my view of the universe, even just one simple image, is infinitely more beautiful than any of the mental and rhetorical gymnastics you perform to keep your delusions alive.
Look at this. The illiterate, uneducated, violent sandpeople who invented the religion of your faith (I say invented, but really most of it is simply plagiarized) could never have even scratched the surface on this kind of beauty. At their most imaginative—Heaven—the best they could do was a crystal river and a golden gate. Elton John has a golden gate. Reality, on the other hand, is piled high with astounding beauties we are only just beginning to comprehend.
Tell me again how a tortured Jew in Roman-occupied Palestine is the greatest story ever told. I’ll be over here, watching the stories etched in the sky: Whole clusters of stars being born; stars dying, sometimes quietly, sometimes violently; whole galaxies colliding, tearing each other apart and recombining into one; black holes attracting and trapping both matter and light, warping the very fabric of space and time themselves; an immense intergalactic symphony of matter and energy, color and light so large that it can never be viewed in its entirety but controlled by particles so small that exist for such a fleeting moment that they can hardly be said to exist at all. No… but really… your burning bush is cool too.
